If you’ve chosen Mallorca as your destination this summer, you’re about to discover one of those places that you fall in love with at first sight. Hidden coves, charming villages, food you’ll want to eat again and again, picture-perfect sunsets… Here’s a list of things to do that won’t disappoint if you want to make the most of your time on the island.

1. Bays that look like something out of a film

Mallorca is famous for its crystal clear waters and picture-perfect coves. Some of the most special ones you can visit are Cala Egos, Cala Blanca and Cala Bella Dona. All are surrounded by nature and are perfect for a day of sun, relaxation and snorkelling.

A tip? Go early, wear comfortable shoes and take something to eat. And if you can, avoid weekends so you can enjoy them in peace.

2. Lose yourself in charming villages

One of the best things you can do in summer is to let yourself be carried away by the island’s interior. Villages such as Valldemossa, Deià and Sóller await you with cobbled streets, stone houses, flowers everywhere and cafés that invite you to stop and simply enjoy the moment.

In Sóller, don’t miss the old train that connects to Palma or a freshly squeezed orange juice in the square. In Valldemossa, try a potato cake with cold chocolate. Small Mallorcan pleasures.

3. A visit to the centre of Palma

The island’s capital is also worth a visit. Stroll through the old town, visit Palma Cathedral (La Seu), take a walk along the seafront promenade and lose yourself in the shops and restaurants in the centre. There’s a lively atmosphere and plenty of terraces to enjoy the Mallorcan summer.

4. Eat (very) well

Mallorca is also gastronomy. From Mediterranean restaurants with sea views to hidden gems serving traditional home cooking.

Some recommended stops? Ca’n Joan de S’Aigo (for a typical ice cream), Andana in Palma (Mallorcan cuisine with a modern twist) or Sa Foradada, with stunning sea views. And if you like markets, don’t miss the Santa Catalina Market.

5. Watch the sunset from a special spot

There are many ways to watch the sunset, but if you want something unforgettable, head up to the Es Colomer viewpoint in Formentor or visit Sa Foradada. The sky is bathed in incredible colours and I guarantee it will be one of those memories you’ll cherish forever.

And if you also fancy discovering the coast from another perspective, we recommend a sea experience. At Sea U Charter you can hire a boat for a day and explore the coast from Portals to some of the most spectacular coves. A different (and magical) way to enjoy Mallorca.
